Brenton Road Closure
Week beginning 2nd December
We have been told the road will be open to traffic in both directions before 9am and after 3pm from now on. The community minibus will return to it's normal schedule in the mornings. There will be no return bus or any walking bus in the mornings or at the end of the day.
Many thanks to everyone who has helped run our 'alternative transport' throughout this period of disruption.
Apple and Grounds Day
Thanks to all the children and parents for all their efforts helping us improve the school grounds.
P.E. Funding helps classes with gymnastics at Zero Gravity.
Over the Autumn and Spring terms, all classes will be visiting Zero Gravity for a series of afternoons focusing on gymnastics and agility. The children from Godrevy and Trevose have had a fantastic time so far and are already looking forward to their return visits. PE funding will also be providing street dance sessions for Pendeen Class.
BUILT TO LAST
The whole school theme for this term is 'Built to Last' with the children learning about buildings, structures and even objects that have stood the test of time.
The majority of the curriculum subjects will be integrated within the theme and Staff have planned trips and a range of practical activities to really bring the theme alive, however if any parents are able to contribute to the theme in any way then please let us know. Old and interesting objects or postcards from around the UK or world would be a great source of inspiration for the children's writing.
ECO Team and New School Council
This term the children have voted for members of their School Council. These elected few will be helping the Governors write the school improvement plan and will play an important role in helping St Nics become even better!
The newly formed ECO team have already completed a survey of the school and are currently working on an action plan to make the school (and the people in it) more energy aware. They will be posting their ideas on 'How to be Green' on the school website soon.
